Many of us have a good start in life; but the moment we fall, we make a choice that either make us or break us. Which one did you choose? It is easy to give up, stop running the game; but it requires lot of guts to gather oneself & carry on faster than before. Do you realize what not giving up can bring to us? What choosing to carry on despite of the fall and win? Many a times, we might have faced such situations that co-relate with the fall from the top. Did we choose to carry on or did we just walk away? Think about it. It will tell you why we are, where we are today. The moment you fall, discover the gear within you, which you thought never existed. The power lies within us. It just needs to be unraveled. It is easier said than done, I agree. But, doing so will only help you to be a step closer to your dream. The reason for putting across this is to help people who have lost hope and are seeking light in the dark tunnel. With many lay offs, job cuts happening, I think we should stay strong and not choose to give up on oneself no matter what. How do we do that?
Take the bigger leap. Yes, you can! Just some bit of extra force is required from your end. Best wishes, Priyanka

Living one’s passion seems to be the buzzword these days. Everyone wants it, but very few succeed to live it in the long-run. What is passion exactly? Here’s the dictionary definition of passion: a very strong feeling of enthusiasm, excitement or intense emotion about something. So, in a nutshell, it is the desire for something very deep-seated, inner emotion or like for something. If you can find that out & live it, you’ll be happy & satisfied. You’ll be able to live a purposeful life because your inner instincts & drives are in sync with your actions & contributions. But, how do we figure out our passion? Even if we succeed in figuring that out, how do we live it and walk that path all throughout? Is that easy? Are you ready to take that challenge? You need to ask these questions to yourself and then decide. If the answers are no, then probably don’t follow that path. You will not reach there and just waste your time. However, if you are ready, then let’s read further. Let’s look at a few things that stop us from self-discovery. Unless and until we know ourselves, our drives, our motivations, our inner needs, we will not be able to discover our passion. Self-discovery is very important. But there are challenges to this process. The first one being our own fear & apprehensions. We are wired to think much about the ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’ before taking any action. It’s good to forecast and plan accordingly, but when we overthink and use that as a deterrent to taking action, then it becomes a problem. Fear follows excuses and they make a great pair! Excuses will reinforce the negative thoughts and bring us back to where we are. It will stop us from discovering ourselves because it may not conform to what we might be doing and believing till date. It will challenge our existence, our believes, our value-additions & may be more. Once you are through that process of confronting the battle between fear, excuses and self-discovery, you are now on a much clearer ground. You are now on a path to greater awareness. You can now easily find out what is that something that you like so intensely that you are ready to do anything for it no matter what. If every circumstance supported you, what is that thing that you would have loved to do & make a difference through your contributions? This cannot be something seemingly trivial, but truly your conscious awakening. Well, things don’t end here. It just starts. A new beginning and awakening! You figured out your passion, but what do you do about it? Does it match your current work? If not all, does it partially give you that sense of fulfilment? Will it suit your lifestyle? What would be the consequences for following your passion? Will you be able to support yourselves financially? Are you ready to bear the brunt of it? Will you be influenced by the external forces? Will you be able to overcome the resistance that will keep coming to you every time you are knocked down? And many more questions will follow. If the answers to these are yes, then rejoice. Voila! You have found it. You are ready to go, chase it, live it and enjoy it. That’s your discovery! Take the credit! Living one’s passion isn’t a fad but requires lot of dedication & self-discipline. However, the positive thing here is that, you will not feel unhappy because you are doing something that you have a strong desire & affinity for. It is a natural tendency of human beings to love doing something that they value & care about rather than doing something that is just a need for the moment or something meant to satisfy a requirement. Here’s food for thought. Leaving you all with one example of a famous person who proved that following one’s passion is a rewarding experience. Walt Disney was an American entrepreneur, animator, voice actor and film producer. He needs no introduction. But before he became successful, he worked as an ambulance driver, then took up the job as a newspaper editor but was fired for lacking imagination and having no good ideas. This loss of job was a blessing in disguise for him. He decided to follow his passion even when others doubted his talent and made history. There are many such examples and inspiring stories. But, what made them stand apart was their possibility thinking & faith in their abilities, their passion. Last but not the least, an anonymous quote worth pondering upon: “No one ever got anywhere by themselves. Find your support and keep them close.” Best wishes, Priyanka |
