“People are too quick to pass judgement, and too slow to self-reflect.” In today’s fast paced environment, we often overlook the need to pause, quieten ourselves and self-introspect. We are in a hurry to achieve something, get recognition, appreciation and be ahead of everyone. That’s very good, but acts as a con, when we leave out our self in this journey and forget to connect deeper within. It’s not always how others or the world sees us, but there has to be a sync in what we feel, act and perceive. Introspection is the first tool for self-development; a meaningful self-development. It helps us realise who we are, what our strengths are, what we like and what our inner drives & motivations are. Unless that happens, I think we will keep running directionless. We will be one amongst the crowd making no sense, no valuable difference. I feel every adult should introspect to understand oneself better. If we understand ourselves more, we will be able to realise our true potential and leverage it more. When we free ourselves from anxiety, stress, conflicts coming out of a desire to be perceived as successful, I think the first step towards meaningful success is half-way achieved. Is there an age to reach this stage of self-awareness? In my opinion, there isn’t but experience, learnings and connecting with oneself enables one to be more self-aware. Hence, there’s a strong need for every one of us to pause for a while & look within. The innate ability of a person is very powerful. We often get misguided by perceptions, beliefs and value systems. We tend to lose focus till we regain it through self-introspection. Self-introspection can be vague, disillusioned. And at this stage, we need someone more aware with self, to guide us and help us through. That’s where a Life Coach comes into the picture. The Life Coach will not do it for you, but help you to probe deeper and connect with your sub-conscious mind. Will make you realise that there is a vast source of power within oneself; just waiting to be unleashed. Will make you question your believes about self, perception about the world and faith in one’s ability. A Life coach will take you deep down to your inner being and then leave you there to see the beauty of the forgotten part of oneself. One’s you are familiar, you will carve out the path to achieve that unique goal that you are meant to achieve. A coach will make you wiser, more aware and above all instil the power to answer your “Why” all by yourself. The adage goes, “Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you will feed him for a life-time.” This is exactly in a nutshell what a coach does to you. When disillusioned, confused and wondering, seek help from a different perspective. This will make things fall in place. We need to be guided, coached, mentored in this journey called life. Whether we are in a profession or we are simply helping create a better world in our own little way, we need clarity of thoughts every time and interventions from the right coach. And in this world of AI (Artificial Intelligence), I think we will have more time to reflect & ponder. We will have better leaders having self-awareness & broader insights. I have had the experience of interacting with one of the finest coaches and if not all, it has helped me to connect with my deeper self and I am grateful for that. #Self-growth #Self-awareness #Coaching -Best wishes, Priyanka
