Each one of us has a gift that makes us special, unique. This is the gift with which we are born, our natural illumination that guides us towards our life's path. The only difference is that some open their packages earlier than the other and in some cases some people never open their packages. Strangely enough, many a times we unconsciously/consciously know what our gift is, but we take solace in just beaming in gratification with the idea of being gifted & do nothing. We neither work to act on it nor master it. Sometimes we give in to circumstances, opinions of our loved ones, sometimes we don't develop that awareness to see the gift in us & allow it to bloom. We may instinctively know that this is what we are really, naturally good at; but because we believe in complexity and the gift doesn't seem like a gift to us, we miss unpacking it and owning it. However, the beauty is that you can own your special gift at any stage in life. Whether you want to make it your profession or hobby is completely your choice.
Have you wondered what it would look like to own your special gift and master it?! That is given to you because only you have the power to unpack it, see it's beauty & let the world experience its uniqueness through you & enjoy the power of creation. We get distracted, our personal beliefs, our thoughts, the lens with which we look at life, limits our ability to see our own gifts. When we narrow down our vision, we only see what everyone sees and slowly lose the power of the gift in us. It becomes just another thing that we carry along; dormant & waiting to be activated again. Owning your uniqueness empowers you and fulfills you. The experience is beautiful! It gives you a sense of purpose in life. If you look at the life of the masters and all the people who left a dent in the Universe, you will see that all that they did was that they unpacked their special gift, mastered it and created miracles by giving back their learning/experience of that uniqueness back to the Universe. And that became the purpose of their life. Unlocking your gift takes you to a whole new world of exploration. It's beyond intellectual but something that you deeply love, feel passionate about. Once you discover your gift, no amount of excuses can stop you from embracing it. It's like coming home to yourself, returning to where you belong. Every guard drops, every mask drops; what remains is the realization that this is what you are supposed to make a difference with to your life & the people around you. Whatever our intentions are, if they are fear-sourced and not love-sourced, we can never fulfill them. Likewise if we walk the wrong path, we can never master it because that would be from a space of not what we are meant to do but what we chose to do because of what we thought to be right intellectually. When you discover what truly fulfills you, you step into your zone of genius. Every path is not smooth. It comes with challenges and these are very much required because these are meant to teach us and enable us to grow in that path. When we chose the path of our special gift, we instinctively become ready to face everything that the path offers. So, my question to you is, have you discovered your special gift?If yes, how far have you reached? If not, what's holding you back from unpacking it? Remember that you make the world special by your presence by stepping into your special gift, your zone of genius. The biggest gift that we can gift ourselves and to mankind is by owning our special gift. And I say this from deep self-awareness & transition. I had been running away from owning my own gift and now I have come home to myself by owning my special gift. I embrace compassion, authenticity, creativity, sensitivity & intuition. Love, Priyanka

"When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down 'happy'. They told me that I didn't understand the assignment and I told them they didn't understand life." - John Lennon. Many a times when you just casually ask a person if they are happy or not, very rarely you hear them say: Yes, I am happy. The answers that I usually get are: 'I don't know'. 'I have everything yet something is missing'.'I will be happy when this dream of mine gets fulfilled'. 'I will be happy when I land up in this job or have this'. The list is endless. Reason being, things are endless. Even though sometimes some people may intellectually say that they are happy, they may not really feel it. When we attach our expression of happiness with acquisition of things, goals, dreams, something outside us & not within, we don't get the fulfillment. There is always this longing & anxiety then for the next best. Thus, we don't feel the happiness. Happiness is not this thing or that thing but simply growth. We are happy when we are growing and not because of achieving something or attaining something. The equation of happiness is simply this: When we grow across all our four bodies: mind, body, emotion & spirit; we become happy. When we have an intention and when that intention gets fulfilled, we become happy because to fulfill that intention, growth in any of the four bodies need to happen. The process of growth and the deep feeling inside us that we experience while we are growing & developing is happiness. Buying and acquiring things doesn't enable growth in us. Stagnancy amounts to complacency and this leads to unhappiness & numbness.
As we grow, we nourish ourselves and thus take ourselves to a space where we can viscerally feel that growth in us. So, happiness is something that is inside of us and not outside. Our quest should be to keep growing across all the four bodies towards mastery for attaining ultimate happiness. No amount of acquisition will make us happy but internal growth will. So, next time you aren't happy, do ask yourself these questions: Am I growing across all the four bodies? Am I physically, mentally, emotionally & spiritually growing? If not, what would allow me to do that? Leaving you with this beautiful anonymous quote & reflective thought: "Ironically enough, when you make peace with the fact that the purpose of life is not happiness but rather experience & growth, happiness comes as a natural byproduct. When you are not seeking it as the objective, it will find its way to you." Love, Priyanka "Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complex." - Confucius We all grew up in a simple world. But as we move on in life, we forget the simplicity of our being which holds the power to move mountains. Websters defines simplicity as the state of being simple, uncomplicated; freedom from pretense or guile, directness of expression. We like simplicity. That's what we all strive for. Yet, we somehow complicate things, thereby making it difficult to attain & achieve simplicity. We keep embracing complexity. It's like moving from simplicity to complexity and then trying to make it simple again. Isn't that ironical?! We complicate our world with complex outlook, perspectives, thought patterns thereby complicating our relationships, our life & everything in it. The funniest part is, we derive pleasure when we find solutions to these self-created complexities. It's like rewiring, unwinding and again rewiring. Complexity in today's world is used as a parameter to sound more smart & credible. The great leader, Steve Job's main mantras were: FOCUS & SIMPLICITY. In fact, simplicity is a great leadership tool. The common belief is that the more complex we are, the more sophisticated we become. Hence, our focus lies in turning simple things to complex words, acronyms, policies, instructions, procedures that no one really understands & relates to. But, the truth is the other we round. Simplicity is the key to brilliance. As quoted in Harvard Business Review, over a three-month period, Corporate Executive Board conducted pre- and post-purchase surveys of more than 7,000 consumers in the U.S., the UK, and Australia, covering a wide range of ages, income levels, and ethnicity. And what was discovered post this survey was, what consumers want from marketers is, simply, SIMPLICITY. That's all. Here's a TEDx Talk by cartoonist and writer Ramya Sriram illustrating the power of 'less is more' in visual communication. Click here for the TEDx Talk link www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0uvcM29Crc. Simplicity is complexity resolved. So, there's no reason to complicate but ease down. Using minimalism, purposeful subtraction & consciously choosing what to leave out is the key. Love. Priyanka
"We judge ourselves mostly by our intentions, but others judge us mostly by our actions." - Eric Harvey If there is an area in your life wherein you have not achieved the desired results, then do have a look at your intentions. Powerful your intentions are, powerful your actions will be and as an outcome of all these, the results that you create are bound to be powerful. What are intentions? Intentions are our strong desire, the commitment to create, our beliefs, our faith in our own abilities, our conviction to self. Intentions need to be free from inner conflicts, they must be crystal clear to manifest itself into outcomes. Intention is the guiding force that propels us to take actions. We don't force ourselves, but we just do it when our intentions are clear because we want it. Intentions are our "WHY". WHY you want this? WHY you are doing what you are doing? WHY you are committing to this and not something else? It connects with our essence, our core. As a result of which, we leave no stone unturned to get our intentions fulfilled. Our results therefore can be controlled by us if we focus on our intentions. Check out this life wheel and reflect for a while as to where your results are not being created the way you wish to. Look for the intentions in those areas. Are they powerful enough to drive you to take actions? If not, ask yourself why? What is stopping you from creating a powerful intention in that particular area? What is holding you back? What are you fearful of? What's the inner conflict that you are juggling with? How do you then set powerful intentions that will manifest itself?
1. Connect with yourself & slip into a state of pure awareness asking yourself what do you really want to create and why. 2. Once you find an answer to this, just own your intention with emotions, beliefs and affirmations. 3. Detach from the outcome but focus on your actions. Your work at this point is to focus on the things that you can control & not the ones that you can't. 4. Have childlike faith & trust in the Universe to orchestrate the complete fulfillment of your intention. Whatever comes your way is what you need at that time. So, embrace it with full faith. 5. Be committed to fulfilling your intention by taking tiny steps. Let go off your expectations & the small mind which will try to distract you at times. "Focus is on the nobility of effort and surrender". Love. Priyanka |
